All of the wood is original with its original patina . There are some surface scratches and marks shown. The makers marks (somewhat faded) are also shown at the front on a drop down door. There are two latch locks at the top. Once open and dropped downward, it reveals two glass panes which used to allow the owner (farmer) to view the chicks without compromising the interior heat.
