1905 Correspondence to Captain E.R. Baird Aide to Gen. George Pickett Framed GA9390
Captain E.R. Baird was the Aide-de-Camp to General George Pickett during the last part of the Civil War. Captain Baird had retired and lived here in Richmond, VA in1905. This glass framed collection is of the correspondence between Captain Baird and merchant S.A. Rice & Co. of 5 East Camden Street, Baltimore Md. on December 22nd, 1905.
In this collection -
1. Typed letter with matching envelope to Capt. Baird noting the items enclosed (100 cigars) it's bill and holiday greetings.
2. Bill/receipt hand written in script - of the 100 cigars delivered and the cost which was $8.00
3. A double sided market report (items for purchase) on all lines of produce they provide.
4. 2 product tie tags from the merchant which are double sided.
All of the graphics are sharp and clear with nice artwork. Every item is in impeccable condition except for the actual envelop the items came in. It has come apart to two pieces however, it is still legible and clear. It has a cancelled George Washington 2 cent stamp cancelled top right corner.
The collection is set in a 16 1/2" by 12 1/4" glass front case.
