This amazing wood and glass revolving door was made in the late 1800s by the Van Kannel Revolving Door Company and salvaged from the Norristown Herald Newspaper building in Norristown, PA.   Theophilus Van Kannel was the actual inventor of the revolving door and his invention was patented in 1888.

The entire unit is in excellent condition for its age.  Measurements: 6'9" diameter 83" tall - with a 9 3/4" tall top trim extension.

Each dividing wood and glass door has a double push bar, a large back plate with a maker's mark, and a bottom kickplate all made of solid brass.  Brass hinges and trim throughout the entire set.  There is a center interior top hole cut out for a light fixture. At the top of the door is a steel "I" beam to secure it.

This door comes apart in about 15 sections.
