This vintage novelty scale was mas by the American Scale MFG Company in Washington, D.C.  It has a sleek art deco style and made from cast iron, steel and brass. Just one single penny inserted gets you a future reading displayed at the top.  The scale portion does work correctly once you step onto the scale after inserting a penny.  Note: The top section is where your "future reading" is displayed however it is currently getting stuck and needs some mechanical adjustment.  

The bottom scale is solid brass with maker's logo imprinted.  The machine has all of it's original parts and paint which is in great condition.  There are some minor surface stains on the sides of the body. Maximum weight capacity is 300 pounds. 

Measurements:  52" tall x 15" wide x 26 1/2" deep.
