Michelangelo's Libyan Sibyl Painting on Stained Glass 33" x 41 1/2" GA9738
LOCAL PICK UP
This is a very unique painting done on a textured leaded stained glass window. It is copied from Michelangelo's paintings on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
The Libyan Sibyl is one of the more graceful female forms painted by Michelangelo. The complex twisting motion of the torso animates the Libyan Sibyl as she opens her manuscript of prophecies and glances downwards at the chapel floor, sixty feet below.
There are three cracks in the window painting which is shown in pictures. The entire piece is solid and framed in wood.
The unknown artist incorporated the window layout with their version of the same.
Measurements: 33" wide by 41 1/2" tall.
This is just one from hundreds of stained glass windows we have in our inventory!
