This is an original 1916 C.F. Martin Bowl Back Mandolin. It has all of it's original parts and is plays beautifully. Makers mark with location (Nazareth, Pennsylvania) is stamped on a chrome plate at the very top back.


The neck is made from Mahogany and the lower section has been pieced together with Adirondack Spruce, Maple and Rosewood. The tuning knobs are made from Pearloid and the pick guard is beautifully inlayed with Tortoise shell.

Note: The bottom center seam has been previously repaired by a Luthier.

Serial number is 4980.
