Antique Heavy Duty Solid Brass & Glass Ship's Porthole with Gear & Backplate GA9859
Pick-Up ONLY (SHIPPING NOT INCLUDED)
· Available for in store pick-up ONLY
Salvaged from one of our Naval ships from the 1940s - this porthole set is complete with back brackets and a front cover. The porthole itself is made of solid brass, along with the bolt locks with the cover being made of cast iron.
Measurements are 16 1/2" in diameter (measured with cover on and back plate stationary) with a 12" in diameter glass view. The glass does have some surface scratches and is shown in pictures. No breaks or chips. With the unit together, the depth measures 4". So you'll have a 4" projection from a wall. The large thick eyebolts turn into each loop lock and pushed down to the sides of the base and tightened. The back outer bracket is 1/4" thick. There is a number "3" stamped on the cast iron lid as well as a "C" encircled.
Note: This porthole unit is very very heavy weighing in at about 55-60 pounds.
This is just one example from hundreds of vintage nautical and maritime items we have in our shop!
