This vintage lead chariot was made by J. Hill & Company of Great Britain. It has two parts - one is the Roman soldier or "charioteer" and the other is both horses connected to the chariot.
The chariot has lots of details and design. It is outlined with beading, flowers, scrolls, and a large starburst at the front. The wheels turn as they should and smooth.
The Roman soldier has a rectangular base and stands in the chariot while holding his reigns (wire) with one hand.
The horses are shown in full run mode as their legs are buckling from the speed. Note: one of the horses legs is broken off at the hoof level.
Makers marks are shown under each item.
